Craig R. Hillerby, 74, of Falconer passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025.
A lifelong area resident he was born Jan. 4, 1951 in Jamestown, the son of the late Richard Hillerby and Marilyn Young.
Craig was a graduate of Southwestern High School and prior to retirement was employed by Ring, Punch & Die for 34 years.
He was a member of the Ellington Rod & Gun Club and former member of the Celoron Fire Department, Sons of American Legion, Herman Kent Post, and Der Kobblers Car Club. Craig enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, working on mechanical projects and number painting.
Surviving is his wife Elizabeth A. Foster Hillerby whom he married May 26, 1973 in Stockton, NY; a son Greg R. (Michelle) Hillerby of Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter Jennifer Rissel of Falconer; four grandchildren: Cody Hillbery, Caylie Hillerby, Lily Shields, Jase Rissel; two brothers: B. Michael Hillerby of Celoron, David Hillerby of Massachusetts, a sister Pam Hillerby of North Carolina, and cousin Joe Bova.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
A private funeral service will be held for immediate family members Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Penhollow will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington.
