Clifford Leroy Comstock, 86, affectionately known as Cliff, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 4th, surrounded by his loving family.
Cliff was a devoted husband of Dolly (Hall) Comstock for nearly 61 years. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with hard work, laughter, and cherished memories. A proud and dedicated family man, Cliff was a loving father and grandfather who cherished his family above all else. He was well known for his quick wit and loving sense of humor, which brought joy and laughter to those around him.
Cliff dedicated much of his life to working on the dairy farm alongside his beloved wife, Dolly, and their children. Cliff and Dolly spent many years nurturing the farm and raising their children in Cassadaga, instilling in them the values of hard work, family and community. After his years on the farm, Cliff transitioned into a career as a semi-truck driver working for Bluebird Bus Company, he drove bus for Cassadaga Job Corps, and finally for 20 years as a beloved special ed school bus driver. He also worked maintenance and was SRP Union President for the Cassadaga Valley Central School district. Cliff was known for his kindness and dedication, qualities that made him beloved and respected by students and staff alike.
During his retirement, Cliff found great joy in tending to his yard, solving puzzles, both jigsaw and on his kindle and reading Westerns, He Cherished spending time helping his children with their projects and always showed his unwavering support for his grandchildren as they reached their life milestones.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly Comstock, his children, Scott Comstock, Ginger Comstock, Chris (Dawn)Comstock, Tim (Jennifer)Comstock, his grandchildren, TJ Comstock, Liz (Allen) McElwain, Remy Comstock, Max Comstock, Shane Comstock, and many loved ones.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ethel (Langworthy) Comstock, his brother Philip Comstock, and his sisters Evelyn Sweatman and Joann Howard.
Cliffs legacy is one of love, humor, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at the Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville NY on Tuesday September 9 from 4 -7 PM and a Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday September 10th from 11 AM-12 PM, with a burial to follow at Cassadaga Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cliff’s life and share their memories.
