Alan E. Southwick

He graduated from Jamestown High School, Class of 1965. He then served in the United States Army from 1965-68, spending one year in Vietnam. Following his time in the service, he worked at Jamestown Telephone Company which eventually became Windstream Telephone. He retired from Windstream Telephone in Matthews, NC in 2013 after 44 years of service.

Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and bowling. He loved spending time with his family which often included playing card and board games with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading books and watching movies.

Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Yvonne Olson Southwick whom he married Aug. 30, 1986; his sons, Jeffrey (Brianne) Southwick of Oklahoma City, OK, Timothy (Cher) Southwick of Henderson, NV, and Michael (Sherrie) Southwick of Jamestown, NY; his step-son, Steven (Leigh) Brown of Harrisburg, NC; six grandchildren, Keira, Keirstin, Parker, and Londyn Southwick of Henderson, NV, Michael Southwick, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL, and Matthew Southwick of Jamestown, NY; his step-grandchildren, Cora and Timothy Brown of Harrisburg, NC; his great-grandchild, Aliyah; and his sister, Terry Baglia of Jamestown.

Besides his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his sister, Toni Fiorella; brothers-in-law Chris Baglia and Charles Fiorella; and a niece, Shelly Brunacini.

The funeral service for Alan will be at 11 am Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home. Reverend Doug Penhollow will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am Tuesday at Lind’s. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
