It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Russell Palmeri, 89, of Falconer on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025.
A lifelong area resident he was born July 27, 1936 in Jamestown, the son of the late Marco and Mayme Incalcaterra Palmeri.
Russell attended Falconer High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957 to 1959 in Germany. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for two years after active duty.
Prior to retirement he was employed by Carborundum Monofrax from 1960 to 1997. He also served as Bartender at the Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion for many years.
Russ was a member of the Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion, John W. Tiffany Post 53, VFW, Jamestown Moose, Falconer Moose, War Vets Recreation and Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan and enjoyed annual trips to Las Vegas with his friends, enjoyed his classic cars, enjoyed reading, and enjoyed most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his four children Marc (Pam) Palmeri, Linda Palmeri, Russell (Lisa) Palmeri, Julie Vogan; six grandchildren Michael, Anthony, Shelby, Andrew, Abby, Ryan; a great-grandson Walter; his brother Joseph (Helen) Palmeri; nieces Kim Palmeri, Jodi Olosky and a nephew Joseph Palmeri.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Russell Joseph Palmeri in 1962.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
