Marilyn J. Wilcox, 85, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at Heritage Green. She was born in Jamestown on Nov. 16, 1939, to the late Bert and Dora Rose.
Following graduation from Jamestown High School, Marilyn worked for 30 years as an office secretary at Metropolitan Insurance Company. She then spent many years in a similar role with the Jamestown Fire Department.
Marilyn was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church. Together with her husband, Ron, Marilyn loved going to baseball games and taking trips to North Carolina to see family.
A former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Marilyn remained an active member of the Allen Park Women’s Club.
Marilyn will be dearly missed by her husband, Ronald J. Wilcox, whom she married May 29, 1969; her son, Randy (Julie) Wilcox of North Carolina; her grandson, Jaret Wilcox; her two brothers, Richard Rose of Buffalo and Roger Rose of Detroit; her sister, Marge of California; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 11 am-1 pm Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Sunset Hill Cemetery where Rev. Mark Swanson will officiate.
