Katherine A. Francis, 48, of Jamestown, passed away at UPMC Hamot peacefully Saturday, Aug. 16 surrounded by her family who loved her very much. She was born Nov. 19, 1976. Katherine was an organ donor saving three lives. Katherine’s family had a moment of silence for Katherine followed by an honor walk through the hospital to honor her life and her organ donation.
Katherine was employed at AJ Texas Hot for many years. She graduated from Southwestern Central High school in 1994-1995, followed by completing a college course in bookkeeping and accounting in October 2003. Her family will remember her as a kind, beautiful soul – an incredible daughter, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her mother, Linda Ingrao Schwerk of Jamestown; son Matthew, daughter Mackenzie, and her grandson Julian who was her very best friend, all of Jamestown; her sister Carollee Francis of Cleveland, and brother Chris Schwerk of Mayville.
She was preceded in death by her father Stanley Francis, Jr.; her stepfather, Dana Schwerk; and her paternal grandparents, Mamie and Leonard Ingrao.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Marcin Porada will officiate. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service from 12-2 pm Monday at Lind’s.
Burial will be in Mayville Cemetery.
