John Jaeger

John Jaeger
John Jaeger, 68, of Bemus Point, NY, passed away on Aug. 13, surrounded by his family.
John was born Nov. 24, 1956, in Buffalo, NY, the son of John and Gladys (Paepke) Jaeger. He married the love of his life, Diann (Balcom) on July 11, 1981, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, with Pastor Drischell officiating. They were married for 44 years and one month as John would proudly tell anyone who asked.
John worked at Lutheran Social Services in Jamestown, NY for 40 years before retiring in 2020. In his retirement he took on a part time job and truly enjoyed his time working at Tops Markets.
John especially loved spending time with family, listening to music and spending time outdoors soaking up the sunshine and mowing the lawn. He was an avid Bills fan and lifelong Parrothead and could often be found doing all of the above in the summer with Jimmy Buffett playing from the speakers.
Remaining to cherish John’s memory are his beloved wife, Diann; children, Jennifer and Janelle; grandchildren, Aurora, Grace and Caleb; and sisters, Betty and Donna and several nieces and nephews.
There will not be formal visitation, however, a celebration of life will be held this fall where, at John’s wishes, anyone who knew and loved him can come together in joy to remember him.
Memorial donations in John’s name may be directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/pulfibfou/.
