Barbara F. DeStevens

She was born on September 4, 1929, in Coudersport, PA, the daughter of the late Harold E. Furman and Elvina M. Hall Rankin

She was a graduate of Coudersport High School and in earlier years was a telephone operator at Coudersport. She had also been employed by MAC Tools and Peek n Peak Resort

Barb was an avid reader and enjoyed reading gothic historical romance novels and word puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with family and was famous for her lasagna.

Surviving is her daughter Gina (Steve) Baker of Hinsdale; two sons: David DeStevens of Panama, Robert DeStevens of Clymer; grandchildren: Jason, Nicole, Teresa (Jared), Michael, Alyssa, Matthew (Christy), several great grandchildren, her sister Lois Madonna of Madison, OH, and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene DeStevens whom she married August 25, 1951, who died July 5, 2007; her daughter Virginia DeStevens on April 27, 2017; two brothers: Edwin and Richard Furman, and daughter in law Patricia DeStevens.

A private graveside memorial service will be held in St. Mathis Cemetery, French Creek, NY.
