William B. Allshouse

He was born Jan. 26, 1949, in DuBois, PA, the son of the late Alexander and Dorothy Vandervort Allshouse.

A 1969 graduate of Southwestern Central School, he was employed by Rex Nord Company in Warren, PA for 33 years. He earlier had worked for Dahlstrom Manufacturing and Chautauqua Hardware.

Bill was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. As an outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and swimming.

Bill faced cancer courageously and was a 16-year cancer survivor. Despite his health challenges, he persevered and maintained his sense of humor.

Surviving is his wife Susan Wilson Allshouse, whom he married July 3, 1971; two children Shawn (Michelle) Allshouse of Jamestown and Nancy Allshouse of Lakewood; three grandchildren Cody Allshouse, Damon Allshouse and Madison Dent; three step grandchildren Devon, Ashton and Bailey Dent and six great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Groves; an infant brother, Alan Wayne, and his dog Shadow who was his constant companion.

The funeral will be held at 1 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
