Vincent S. Capizzi, 74, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born in Jamestown Nov. 2, 1950, the son of the late Vincent and Laura DeMarco Capizzi. A 1968 graduate of Jamestown High School, he then attended Jamestown Community College, Culver-Stockton College in Missouri and Gannon University. He was also a member of the National Guard for six years.
For many years, Vince was a City of Jamestown fireman, retiring in 2014. He belonged to the Morton Club, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and was a previous recipient of the Joseph Mason Award. He attended St. James Catholic Church.
Surviving is his wife, JoAnne Cusimano Capizzi whom he married Oct. 1, 1977; two sons, Vinny Capizzi of Jamestown and John Paul Capizzi of Buffalo; a sister, JoTina (Al) Boutelle of Frewsburg; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Destro and Frances Bishop, both of Jamestown. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including Kurtis and Christopher (Madeline) Boutelle and children; and cousins, Charles DeMarco, Joseph Albano, Charlotte Albano, John (Nancy) Albano, and Frank (Terry) Martinelli
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Anthony Cusimano; and two cousins, John and Madeline DeMarco.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 7th in St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 6th in the Lind Funeral Home.
