Born on July 2, 1950, in Jamestown, New York, Peggy was the beloved daughterof the late William and Helen (Watt) Tanner. Her life was defined by dedication, kindness, and unwavering love for those closest to her.

Peggy built a remarkable 40-year career at Cummins Engine, including several meaningful yearsworking in England. Her professional life reflected her resilience and strong work ethic, admired by colleagues and friends alike.

She was a devoted mother to Steven (Stacey) Tanner and Stephanie (Lori Reynolds-Tanner)Tanner, both of Jamestown, and a guiding force in their lives. Her nurturing heart extended to her grandchildren — Kanin, Damon, Trey, and Stevie Tanner — who lovingly called her “GP.”Peggy’s influence will echo through the values she instilled: kindness, integrity, and perseverance.

Peggy shared a special lifelong bond with her brother, David (Diane) Tanner and family of Florida, built on mutual respect and deep affection. She also found enduring love and companionship with her life partner, Joanie Raichel. Together they created a life full of laughter, support, and adventure.

Peggy’s joy radiated through her many interests. She was a friend to all, finding connection wherever she went. Her love for dogs was matched only by the warmth she showed to longtime friends like Sandy and Vicky, and nieces Tracy Tanner and Nicole Tanner Cirino (Anthony).
