Nancy J. Newhall passed away July 17, 2025 peacefully in her home with her daughters by her side. She was born June 2, 1932 in Portland, NY to the late Russell G. Harris and Jennie (Safford) Harris Savich.
Nancy enjoyed cooking and baking, especially making the family favorites of fudge, cookies and pies. Her greatest joy was taking care of and helping others, always putting others first.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra (William) Peterson of Jamestown, NY, and Lois (Mark) Short of Jamestown; a step daughter, Marsha Campion of Spring Valley, CA; grandchildren, Leslie Tarbell, Kimberly Peterson, Traci Campion, Christina Hall, Aaron Peterson, Megan Short and Marcia Olson; fourteen great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; a sister, Janet Connelly of San Diego, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison O. Newhall, Jr; a daughter, Cynthia M. Hall; granddaughters Cheyanne and Carrie Hall; three brothers Paul, David and Victor Harris; and a sister-in-law, Anita Cooney.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22nd in the Busti Church of God. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 prior to the service in the church Tuesday.
