Morton Keeler Buss, Sr. ,90, joined his beloved wife, Eileen C. (Bowser) Buss in heaven on July 9th, 2025. Mort and Eileen were married for over sixty-three years. Morton was born on Mar. 16, 1935 in Mayville, New York. He grew up on a large dairy farm in Sherman and was baptized at Sherman Baptist Church as a teenager.

Mort served as a volunteer fireman for both Sherman and Westfield Fire Departments. He worked at Nuttall Ford as a truck mechanic, Renold as a welder and then became Service Manager at Monroe’s Marina in Barcelona. His favorite teams were the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills and he was a dedicated NASCAR fan. Mort was well-known for his ability to fix anything,especially if it had a motor.

Mort faithfully attended the First Baptist Church in Westfield for many years,until his passing. Mort was a hard-working family man with a passion for reading, hunting, fishing and enjoyed his hunting camp in Ridgway, PA with his family for over fifty years. In addition to his parents, Leon and Kathryn (Buss) Tryon, Mort was preceded in death by his wife Eileen and his step father Harry Tryon, along with his step-siblings Earl, Ralph, Everett, Alvin and Florence. Survivors include his brother, Richard Buss (Fort Myers, FL); and his three sons; Morton Jr.(Becky) of Erie, Timothy (Kimberly) of Westfield, and Lance (Kimberly) of Westfield; his nine grandchildren and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church, 19 Union Street, Westfield, NY on Tuesday July 15,2025 10AM to 11AM with a service immediately following with Pastor Matthew Wolfe officiating. Mort will be laid to rest alongside his wife during a private ceremony at the Sherman Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Morton to First Baptist Church of Westfield.
