Kenton L. Johnson

Kenton Leonard Johnson, 72, of Falconer, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Born in Jamestown, NY, on Mar. 13, 1953, he was the son of the late Leonard and Doris Johnson. Kenton was a 1972 graduate of Falconer High School and went on to attend the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1976.

Kenton worked for 24 years as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician with Delta Airlines.Following his retirement from Delta, he remained active in the workforce, contributing to his community through roles at Lutheran Social Services, Heritage Ministries, and Midway State Park.

Kenton had a deep love for aviation and earned his private pilot’s license while living in Texas. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing–especially with his late brother, Dale–playing computer games, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Shirley Ann Johnson, whom he married on Oct. 25, 1975, in View, Texas. Also surviving are their three children: Stacy Johnson of Falconer, NY; Andrew Johnson (Rebecca) of Jamestown, NY; and Leanne Johnson of CranberryTownship, PA; six beloved grandchildren: Michael Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Jayden Johnson,Owen Ross, Atlas Johnson, and Mila Johnson; and his sister, Dawn Westrom.

In addition to his parents, Kenton was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Johnson(Sharon).

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Falconer Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date.
