Joyce A. Olson Hitchcock

Joyce A. Olson Hitchcock formally from Jamestown New York passed away peacefully May 4, 2025 at her Hudson Florida home with her loving husband at her side.

Born May 2, 1939, she was the daughter of Anne and Harold Olson.

After graduating from Jamestown community college 1968, she began her nursing career. She was a proud alumnus of the former Jamestown General Hospital and was the coordinator of the ICU until closing. After the closing of JGH, Joyce moved with her husband to Tarpon Springs Florida where they both worked at Helen Ellis Hospital both retiring from nursing in 2003.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 54 years Fred, and sons John (Cheryl) Green, and James (Cheryl) Green and a daughter Cindy (Jeffrey) Aper; stepchildren Rick(Diana) Hitchcock and Shane(Julie) Hitchcock.

She is also survived by grandchildren Eric (Leah) Green, Rebecca Green, Jessica and Ben Aper step grandchildren Christian (Lacy) Hitchcock, Ashley (Jeremy) Grace, Amber Mayfield, Allie (Daniel) Giddens, Landon Hitchcock and several great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Olson and sister Joan Olson- Napoli.

Her husband wishes to extend gratitude to Hospice Care of Pasco County for their loving comfort and support.

Fred will dearly miss his “Punky”, his fond nickname for his wife.

Per Joyce’s wishes, there will not be a service. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
