James “Jim” Jack Buttafarro

James “Jim” Jack Buttafarro, 74, of Jamestown, NY, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 19, 2025, He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 11, 1951, son of the late Frank and Concetta Vaccaro Buttafarro at WCA hospital in Jamestown.

A lifelong Jamestown resident, Jim graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969. He married Brenda May Hurd on Feb. 16, 1985, and spent 40 years in his most precious role as a loving husband. Jim is survived by his wife Brenda; his son Jamin Buttafarro, his wife Katie, and their two children Judah and Tessa; and his daughter Hannah Odell, her husband Brandon, and their three children Carter, Lincoln, and Brayson.

In his earlier years, he worked the service desk at Central Tractor, and then spent 20 years at SKF, retiring in 2017. Jim was passionate about his relationship with Christ and shared that passion with everyone he met. Jim was a dedicated husband, father, and Papa, and spent his life in loving dedication to his family.

Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman who was truly at home among God’s creation. Jim loved his Italian heritage,cooking and feeding those around him, and playing fantasy football. Jim harbored an artistic gift which he quietly shared through painting, writing, and storytelling.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Concetta Buttafarro, His eldest brother ThomasButtafarro, his older sister Anne (Jack) Caruso, and his twin brother Frank Buttafarro Jr. Jim is also survived by his sisters-in-law Dianna Buttafarro and Jan Buttafarro, his nephews Frank Buttafarro III. and Thomas Buttafarro Jr., and his nieces Sherrie Southwick, Rosanne Dawson, and Stacy Felton.

Jim leaves a legacy of the love of Jesus, his family and friends,and the kindness and compassion he shared with everyone whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and affectionately remembered.
