Darryl J. “DJ” Nordlund

He was born on Nov. 22, 1961 in Jamestown, a son of Duane and Luella Moore Nordlund.

DJ attended Frewsburg Central School.

For many years, he was employed as a truck driver, driving locally for Busti Lime Service and North Auto Crushing and had also driven over the road. More recently he was employed by the Town of South Valley.

He looked forward to cherished time with family and the family pets and was always willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor. He will be remembered for his love of family and his infectious laugh.

DJ is survived by his parents Duane and Luella Nordlund; his wife Janice L. Eckman Nordlund; his two daughters: Roselyn Maureen (Rob Wilday) Nordlund and Samantha Lou (Craig) Rodgers; one granddaughter Paisley Rose; a brother Dana (Julie) Nordlund; many nieces and nephews including his nephew Dylan Nordlund.

He was preceded in death by father-in-law Allen R. Eckman, who passed away on June 14, 2006 and his mother-in-law Marilyn L. Eckman, who passed away on Apr. 18, 2025.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kiantone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help offset medical bills.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
