August “Augie-Skeeter” O. Capron Jr.

He was born July 9, 1961, the son of the late August Capron Sr. and Marcella (Wheaton) Capron who survives and resides in Little Valley, NY.

Mr. Capron had been employed for years with Capron Logging of Little Valley, NY. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family and his woodworking, especially making his walking sticks. He was an avid NASCAR and racing fan; his favorite driver was Tony Stewart. He was known for his love of gardening, baking, cooking, the great outdoors and fishing. He also was one of the Boys on the Hill.

Besides his mother he is survived by 2 sons; Lance (Holly) Capron of Salamanca, NY and Leo (Abby) Capron of Limestone, NY and 4 daughters; Nichole (Kevin) Capron of Gowanda, NY, Samantha Capron of Forestville, NY, Twyla Capron of Salamanca, NY and Leeora (Austin) White of Salamanca, NY and 10 grandchildren; Rene, Jason, Dorien, Autumn, Damien, William, Marcella, Kenai, Maisie and Benson and a great granddaughter Paisley. Also surviving are 3 brothers; Timothy Capron of Little Valley. Richard (Brenda) Capron of Salamanca, NY and Russell (Kathy) Capron of Otto, NY and 2 sisters Lori(Paul) Bryant of Cattaraugus, NY and Michelle (Doug) Pearson of Williamson, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father he was predeceased by a sister Tammie Winship.

Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 411 Rock City Street in Little Valley, NY on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 1 pm from the funeral home.
