The children of Robert Jay Gleason announce that he passed away quietly in his home on June 24, 2025.
Bob was a Sergeant in the National Guard, 27th Armored Division, in charge of the Rifle Range, an Honorary Life member of the Ashville Fire Department, a past chairman of the Ashville Fire District Commissioners, a member of the Stedman Grange and the original founder of Gleason Enterprises, now run by his son, Mike Gleason.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his family and friends. He did not miss an opening day in 75 years.
He was a Son, Brother, Husband, Father, and Grandfather
He is survived by his 6 children, Bobby and Jolene Gleason, Randy and Debbie Gleason, Marsha and Grant Vergith, Julie and Jeff Reynolds, Janice and Tim Loomis, and Michael and Terri Gleason. He is also survived by his brothers, Roger Gleason and Denny Gleason, along with 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several bonus, step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Lorene Gleason, In-Laws, Vincent and June Fadale and wife, JoAnn (Fadale) Gleason.
The children of Robert Gleason invite their friends and family to share in a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Sunday, July 6th at 1pm, for a luncheon, at the Ashville Fire Department.
As an Honorary Life Member of the Ashville Fire Department, he would be proud to have donations sent to the Ashville Fire Department in his memory.
