Michael A. Cady
Michael A. Cady, 81, of Jamestown NY passed away in his home surrounded by his children and brother on May 28, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with Cancer. Michael was born on January 9, 1944 in Jamestown, NY and was the youngest son of the late Norman N. Cady and Ann Marie Ciancio-Cady.
Michael attended Jamestown public schools and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1962. He later enlisted in the United States Army working in Intelligence. He often told stories of his time in the service and his travels all over Europe. He especially loved his time in Germany. After receiving an honorable discharge, he later returned to Jamestown and married the former Linda L. Stearns and started a family. Michael was a devoted “family man” he always worked hard to make sure his family has everything they needed. He never missed a softball game or a football or baseball game his kids were playing in. He loved spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had an especially close relationship with his grandson Chase. Michael by trade was a tool and die maker for over 30 years, working at Jamestown Perforators and later retiring from Master Grind EDM. After retirement Michael enjoyed traveling to London many times with his wife. He loved gardening (especially his fern garden) and growing tomatoes, he also loved fishing and hunting with his son. He was a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns and the New York Yankees.
Surviving are his four children, Margaret A. Cady (Chris White), Michael S. Cady (Nichole), Amanda L. Lundberg and Heidi M. Maloney. Four grandchildren Jack and Chase Lundberg and Abbey and Morgan Maloney. Three great grandchildren. His brother Norman D. Cady (Wanda), many nieces and a nephew and cousins and his beloved cat Baby.
Michael was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Linda, brother-in law Samuel Russell, and his sister Daisy A. Russell as well as lifelong friends Ernie Hartman and John Sorenson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care for the care Michael received and support for the family.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to: Chautauqua County Humane Society, 285 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
