Leona E. Anderson

She was born Mar. 25, 1947, in Corry, PA, a daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth Damon VanderSchaaf.

For 39 years she owned and operated The Ice Cream Shack in Lakewood. She earlier had worked at Jamesway and as a hostess at Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.

She was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Moose Lodge and Lakewood Memorial Post 1286 American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are two daughters Lorie (Mike) Benson of Clayton, NC and Kimberly (Paul) Calabrese of Busti; seven grandchildren Zachary (Alexis) Benson, Lindsey (Cameron) Norris, Allyson Benson, Jennifer (Chris) Greenman, Carl (Bree) Calabrese, Andrew Calabrese and Alex Calabrese and ten great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bruce “Boo” Anderson, whom she married July 23, 1965 and who died June 22, 1997 and a sister Lena Elliott.

The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
