Joyce A. Thomas, 56, of Sinclairville NY passed away at ECMC in Buffalo on June 8, 2025. She was born on Dec. 27, 1968, to the late Shearl and Joyce Person in Jamestown NY. She was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School.
For many years Joyce was a bartender at the Backyard Bar and Grill and also at Waddington’s Tavern. She enjoyed spending summers on the boat in her flip flops with her boyfriend Adam on Chautauqua lake. She was known for making her families secret bleu cheese recipe that everyone enjoyed and looked forward to eating. She was a member of Falconer Moose and Eagles Club and also a member of the Ellington Rod and Gun Club.
Joyce is survived by her significant other Adam McGrath; her daughters Joslyn Whipple, Jordyn Thomas and her boyfriend Chase Warner; her son Dylan (Kaelyn) Thomas; her brothers Dennis (Chris) Person, Sanford (Terri) Person, Randy Person; her grandson Aiden Whipple; and several nieces, and nephews.
Joyce is preceded in death by her sister Iris Person.
Joyce’s family would also like to thank her backyard family especially Renee, Teel, and Brian.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the Falconer Moose Lodge beginning at 2 PM located at 11 S. Down St., Falconer, NY, 14733.
