Janice A. Scott, aged 85, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Erie, PA, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 6, 1939, in Gowanda, NY, to the late Alvin and Doris (Seileman) Waters and was also predeceased by her sister Diane Smith. Janice’s life was defined by her enduring devotion to her family, her work, and her community.

Janice is survived by her cherished husband of 67 years, Glenn H. Scott, who together built a legacy of love and commitment. Janice was the loving mother to Jacolyn (late Stanley) Dybka, Vicki Giraud, and Randall (Julie) Scott. She reveled in her role as a grandmother to eight, a great-grandmother to eighteen, and a great-great-grandmother to five. Her heart and her home were ample enough for the joys and laughter of a growing family, which also included numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After graduating from Pine Valley Central Schools, she cultivated a lifelong career as a bookkeeper for the family business, Scott Farms. Her diligence, efficiency, and love for “running for parts” made her an indispensable part of the operation. Janice was a consummate homemaker who took great pride in her home which reflected her warmth, creativity, and welcoming spirit.

Janice’s hands were rarely still, as her love for sewing, crafts, and baking kept her busy and fulfilled. She was happiest when her home was filled with the sights and sounds of her treasured family, who were the recipients of countless handmade gifts and delicious treats. Her generosity of spirit and talent extended into her community involvement as an active member of the Hillside Club.

Janice’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, service, and the unbreakable bonds of family. She leaves behind a legacy of caring, a blueprint for dedication, and the unforgettable warmth of her smiles and embraces. As Janice A. Scott’s wonderful journey comes to a close, those who knew her find comfort in the rich memories she has left behind.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
