James Robert Kanouff, 59, of Falconer passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 22, 2025 in UPMC Chautauqua.
A lifelong area resident he was born Aug. 1, 1965 in Jamestown, the son of Robert and Charie Marsh Kanouff.
He was a 1984 graduate of Falconer Central School and was currently employed as a Bus Driver and Mechanic for Falconer Central School.
Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his camp on Chautauqua Lake, boating, camp fires, working on cars and fixing things.
He is survived by his wife Victoria “Vicki” Britton Kanouff whom he married Oct. 7, 1995 in Lakewood; a son Eric Kanouff (Meghan Allenson); a daughter Emily Kanouff all of Falconer; his parents Robert and Charie Kanouff of Falconer; two sisters: Ann Kanouff of Falconer, Julie (Douglas) Wilson of South Wales, NY; his nephew Ryan Wilson, his niece Rachel Wilson both of South Wales, NY and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ralph and Freida Kanouff, and his maternal grandparents Glen and Dorothy Marsh; his aunt Charlene Anderson and his uncle Joseph Marsh.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Herdzik pastor of New Beginning Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Clarks Corners, NY.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday in the funeral home.
