Harris M. Goldstein

Harris M. Goldstein

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Harris Mayer Goldstein, who departed this life on June 16, 2025, at the age of 79. Harris passed peacefully, surrounded by love and prayer, listening to “Oldies” music, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.

Born on Apr. 13, 1946, in Philadelphia. Harris was half owner and CEO of Alessi Catering and Food Service. He was also a dedicated Master Mason and served in the Army Reserves. Harris was truly the life of the party–full of laughter, charm, and unforgettable stories. With a quick wit and a warm smile, he had an incredible ability to connect with everyone he met. Whether surrounded by old friends or new acquaintances, he made people feel welcome, seen, and valued. He lit up every room he entered and left a lasting impression through his humor, generosity, and genuine love for life. His presence brought joy, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Harris is survived by his children, Laurie (Shawn) Dutton and Lee (Ann) Goldstein; his grandchildren, Hailey (Caleb) Huntington, Christopher Dutton (Savanna Nickerson), Jonathan Dutton (Madilynne Hattaway), Isabella Dutton, Jacob, Georgia, and Joe Goldstein; and “brothers”, Jackie Kulla (Donna Nester) and Myron Klein; and many beloved nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Israel and Cecelia Goldstein; his wife, Scala Sparacio; his brother, Jerry (Martha) Goldstein; his sister, Roslyn (Neil) Kaplin; one nephew and one granddaughter.

Harris cherished his “Lutheran” family, where he lived for over 12 years. The friendships, laughter, shared stories, and his presence brought light and companionship to many. His involvement wasn’t just meaningful to him–it was a gift to everyone around him.

Harris and the family were, and continue to be, deeply grateful for the compassionate care and support provided by Hospice. In the short time they were involved, they offered not only guidance and comfort but also genuine kindness and love. True to his nature, Harris made a lasting impression on everyone he met–even in his final days. One social worker fondly recalled their first meeting, when Harris greeted her with a smile and a joke: “Roses are red, violets are bluish- if it wasn’t for Jesus, we’d all be Jewish.”

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. All who knew and loved Harris are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.

His voice, his laughter, and the warmth of his presence may be gone, but the impact he made on our lives will stay with us always.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care at https://chpc.care/donate/memorials_donations/ ; or please consider a donation to help defray funeral expenses. To share a memory or condolence please visit www.lindfuneralhome.com.
