Glenn L. Hanson

Glenn L. Hanson, 79, of Falconer passed away Wednesday (June 25, 2025) in UPMC Chautauqua after a courageous battle with cancer.

A lifelong area resident, he was born June 23, 1946 in Jamestown, the son of the late Allan and Ethel Hollabaugh Hanson.

Glenn was a graduate of Falconer High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970. He owned and operated a Beef and Dairy farm on Hanson Road and was employed by Falconer Central School from 2001 to 2015.

He enjoyed reading western books by William Johnstone, farming, hard work, and loving the simple things in life.

Surviving is his wife Deborah L. Fanale Hanson whom he married October 23, 1987 in Ellington; three children: Sarah A. Hanson of Stuart Florida, Matthew L. Hanson of Gerry, Elizabeth G. Hanson of Gerry; two grandchildren: Matthew C. Binko Jr. and Luke A. Binko.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother William A. “Bill” Hanson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Falconer. Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer will officiate.

Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the memorial service Wednesday in the church.

In lieu of sending flowers; the family asks that instead; memorial contributions be made to the VA, Chautauqua County Humane Society, or the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
