Flora Estella Donnell Woods, 86, of Erie, PA, and formerly of Sherman, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Lecom Village Square Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Erie, PA. She was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Waterford, PA, the daughter of the late Lysle H and Martha P Myers Donnell.
She was a 1956 graduate of Fort LaBoeuf High School in Waterford, PA. She was a homemaker, helping to raise her five children, and enjoyed gardening, genealogy, puzzles, reading, and taking pictures of family for the family tree. Above everything else was her family, which was the most important thing to her.
She is survived by three children, Debora (Dave) Amadei, Deanna (Christopher) Goodwill, and Duane (Jeridy Faith) Woods; a daughter in-law, Sue Blyth Woods; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Leroy Woods, whom she married Aug. 7, 1956; two sons, Donnell and Dean Woods, two sisters, Elizabeth Connell and Dorothy Donnell, and two brothers, James, and Robert Donnell.
The funeral will be held at noon, on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S Erie St., Mayville, NY 14757) with visitation being held for two hours before the service from 10 AM to noon. The Rev Timothy Minge will officiate. Burial will be in the Sherman Cemetery.
