Clifton Lee “Clif” Darling, 74, of 984 Einink Road, Clymer, passed away peacefully with his daughter Susan by his side, Tuesday June 17, 2025, in Corry Memorial Hospital.
Born July 7, 1950, at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX, military brat and son of the late MSG William H. and Geraldine Gray Darling.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Sanitary Wiping Company as manager and earlier had worked for Nelson Brothers Lumber.
Clif was a former mayor of Celoron, a member of the Celoron Volunteer Fire Department and also a member of Sons of the American legion, Post 777.
Surviving is his wife Cheryl Evans Darling, whom he married July 7, 2007; three children and ten grandchildren; Jason (Dena) Darling of Richmond Hill, GA and their children Logan, Gavin and Gage Darling; Susan (Keith) Yocum of Celoron and their children Emily Crawford and Melody Yocum; Lisa (Ben) Langford of Jamestown and their children Hayden, Jameson, and Beckham Langford; a step daughter Danielle (Duane) Williams of Sugar Grove, PA and their children Eric and Michael Williams.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers William Darling and Joseph “Mike” Darling and many beloved dogs.
The funeral will be held at 3 pm Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 pm Saturday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
