Beverly A. White
Beverly A. (Manwaring) White, lovingly known to many as “Grandma Bev” or “Grandma White,” passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born in Bear Lake, PA, to Jesse and Anna Manwaring, Bev was the youngest of five siblings and the last surviving. She married Gordon White on June 3, 1955, who preceded her in death 25 years ago on July 7, 2000. Together they raised three children and shared a life full of love, hard work, and service to others.
Bev worked for many years as a school lunch lady at Clymer Central School, where she took pride in feeding generations of children. Her love of cooking and caring extended far beyond the cafeteria–her home was always open, her kitchen always in use for events, receptions and school cookies, and her heart always generous. She was known for her cookies, pies, sweet rolls, baked beans, mac and cheese, and for always making enough to feed twice as many as expected. She was a member of the Abbe Reformed Church, she knitted blankets, baby sweaters, mittens and dish rags for anyone who needed them and always carried suckers or candy, offering comfort in countless ways.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daryl White (Patty White of Clymer, NY), and is survived by her children Dale (Kelly) White of Clymer, NY and Monica White of Mayer, AZ; nine grandchildren: Matt (Emiley) White, Bethany (Cameron) Collins, Jenna (Ron) Johnson, all of Clymer, NY, Brandon (Beth) White of Genoa, NY, Travis (Julie) White, Chelsea (Chris) Howden both of Clymer, NY, Jessica Morris of Bullhead, AZ, Kelley (Ben) Diltcher of Dewey, AZ and Jacob White of Yuma, AZ; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Bev’s life will be held at the Abbe Reformed Church in Clymer, NY on Friday, June 13, with visitation at 10am and the service at 11am, officiated by Rev. Steve Wiggers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Abbe Reformed Church, The Clymer Fire Department or 5&2 Ministry.
