Rosemary E. Higbee

A Jamestown native, she was born April 7, 1950, the daughter of the late Reynolds and Elizabeth Brown Buzard, and was a graduate of Southwestern Central High School.

For many years, she was a teacher’s aide at BOCES in Ashville. Her family will remember Rosemary always as a great teacher, for both her students at school and with her family as well. She loved gardening and also held the honor of being the first woman to race at Stateline Speedway during the time that her husband raced regularly.

Surviving is her husband, Paul Higbee whom she married April 3, 1970; daughter, Bridgette Winters (David) of Jamestown; two sons, Michael Higbee (Kara) of Busti and Shawn Higbee (Marianne) of California; and six grandchildren: Tyler and Dylan Higbee, Taylor and Lucas Higbee, and June and Huxley Winters.

Along with her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jeffery Buzard.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 10 in the Lind Funeral Home.

No formal service will be observed; however a brief time of family sharing will take place near the end of visitation.
