Mary Lingenfelter

Mary Lingenfelter

Mary Lingenfelter of Jamestown, NY passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, just shy of her 98th birthday. Mary remarked, “I’ve come to the end of a perfect day!”

Mary brought kindness, mutual respect and positivity to everyone she met, and in return she was loved by many. She was the epitome of class and fortitude and was truly a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day. Her cheery voice and friendly disposition live on in our memories.

Grounded in faith, family and friends, Mary was a lifelong devoted Christian, active church member and Bible scholar. Over the last decade, Mary resided at Carlson Tower, Hultquist Place and finally Heritage Green. She was thankful she met many wonderful people who enriched her life.

Born in June 1927 to Arthur and Gladys (See) Riddell of Irish and English descent, Mary graduated from Randolph Central School in 1945. She continued to WCA School of Nursing becoming a Registered Nurse in 1948. After nearly four decades of service, she retired from the former WCA Hospital Maternity Ward. The class alumni remained friends throughout the years, even to this day.

In 1948, Mary married Jamestown pharmacist Robert Parasiliti and was embraced by his large Italian family. The couple welcomed children Richard, Ronald and Amy and lived happily on the North Side of Jamestown for many years.

Widowed, Mary wed Charles Lingenfelter of Frewsburg in 1984. Children Robert and Linda were lovingly welcomed to her blended family. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, taking care of her grandchildren and soaking up summer at their camp. Mary also cultivated friendships in Jamestown’s Christian Business Women and West Side Ladies clubs.
