Marianna R. Eckholm, 91, of Mill Hall, PA, formerly of 42 Metcalf Ave., Celoron, passed away on May 23, 2025, at Geisinger Hospital, Jersey Shore, PA. She was born on Jan. 5, 1934, to the late Frank and Anna Price Mosher. She married Ray Eckholm on Aug. 25, 1951 and was a 1951 graduate of Celoron High School (SWCS).
Marianna was a lifelong resident of Celoron prior to moving to Mill Hall, PA to live with her son. She loved knitting, specially making sweaters and Christmas stockings for her family. Marianna was a member of a knitting group that made beany hats for American Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. She was a stay-at-home mom and once her kids grew up, she enjoyed babysitting for others.
A member of the Celoron Legion Auxiliary, Marianna also belonged to the Celoron Fire Department Auxiliary, the Vikings, and was the treasurer for the Celoron Civic Committee throughout the 1960s and 70s. Marianna was a member of First Covenant Church, where she sang in the Living Christmas Tree for many years.
Marianna was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, and a sister, Eloise (Al) Lampo.
Marianna is survived by four sons: Jeff (Janice) Eckholm of Orange Park, FL, Mike (Dawn) Eckholm of Indian Land, SC, Gary (Connie) Eckholm of Mill Hall, PA, and John (Sue) Eckholm of Stedman, NC; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral for Marianna will be at 2 pm Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 1-2pm Saturday at Lind’s.
