Linda B. Anderson

Linda B. Anderson
Linda B. Anderson, 81, of Jamestown, NY passed away on May 27, 2025, with her husband at her side, at home following a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born on May 3, 1944, in Dansville, NY, to the late Dana K. and Louise M. Barnes.
Linda was a 1963 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1965 graduate of Jamestown Community College. She went on to earn her BA in Economics from Grove City College.
She began her career at the former Jamestown Savings & Loan Association, where one of her first assignments was to transition the bank from a paper-based to a computer-based banking system. Linda worked her way up to Secretary Treasurer of the organization. When Jamestown Savings merged with Buffalo Savings Bank she was promoted to Assistant Vice President. When her daughter was born, she made the decision to retire from banking and became a stay-at-home mom, a decision she never regretted.
Linda was very active in several community organizations. Over the years she served on the boards of the Zonta Club of Jamestown (President from 1984-1986, Zontian of the Year in 1991), the Jamestown Girls Club, the Fenton History Center, the Marvin House, and, most recently, the Audubon Community Nature Center, where she served as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee. While her daughter was in school, she enjoyed volunteering with school activities and programs, her favorite being the Advanced Learning Program.
In her spare time, Linda loved gardening, and genealogical research on her and her husband’s families, including 3,900 relatives and ancestors. She also loved helping her husband tackle home improvement projects.
Linda is survived by her husband Todd, whom she married on April 24, 1976, her daughter Adelle (Joshua) Smith of Cary, NC, granddaughter Ellie Smith, brother Curtis (Patricia) Barnes, nieces Diana (William) Fox, Kate (Chad) Talo, and Sarah (Mark) D’Angelo, sister-in-law Jerianne Barnes, and brother-in-law Tom Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Larry Barnes.
Visitation will be observed on Sunday June 1, 2025, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lind Funeral Home. A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
