Geraldine Adams Martin

Geraldine Adams Martin

Geraldine Adams Martin, 86, affectionately known as Gerry, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on April 12, 2025, in Tampa, Florida.

Born on May 5, 1938, in Jamestown, New York, Gerry was raised in a loving family and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1956. She went on to attend the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, where she developed her professional skills and sense of independence.

While much of her career was spent in banking and finance, Gerry also worked for several years as the secretary of Schrader Elementary School–a role she took on so she could be closer to her two young daughters. Her dedication to both her work and her family was a hallmark of her life.

Gerry was preceded in death by her father, Perry Adams; her mother, Elsie Adams; her brother, Roy Adams; and as a reluctant cat lover, by her beloved feline companions Buffington, Casey, and Kelso.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Amy Martin (Derek) and Cara Martin Bachmann (Ron); her brother, M. Paul Adams (Sally); nieces Christine Adams Carlisle (Jeff), Alyssa Adams McAlpine (Robert), and Ashley Adams; and nephews Tom Adams (Valerie) and Tim Adams.

A burial service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, New York, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Gerry’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Gerry’s memory to either Saint Elia Albanian Orthodox Church or Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, both located in Jamestown, New York.

Gerry’s legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength will continue to live on through those who knew and cherished her. She will be deeply missed.
