Elaine C. Bogardus

She was born May 3, 1951, in Salamanca, NY, a daughter of the late Hugh and Rowena Bargy Hoxie.

She was a graduate of Randolph Central School and later earned an associate’s degree from Jamestown Community College.

Prior to her retirement she was employed by Jamestown Public School District as a paraprofessional at Love Elementary School. She also worked for Tops Market in the meat department.

Surviving is her son George (Amanda) Bogardus II, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, Rhiannon Bogardus, and George Bogardus III; a brother Raymond (Edith) Hoxie of Randolph; and two sisters Harriett (Gary) Strong of Sinclairville, and Linda (Bill) Myers of Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Bogardus who died Aug. 16, 1984; two brothers Bill and Thomas Hoxie, and a sister Evelyn Sarno.

The funeral will be held at 5 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
