Doris E. Tanner, 86, of Jamestown, NY, passed away April 26, 2025, and rests with great joy in God’s love. She is reunited with her beloved Mother Seraphina Maier Kratzmeier and her Father Ernst Robert Kratzmeier. Born May 15, 1938 in Mannheim Germany. An only child. Her parents died when she was very young, and she inherited the family hotel. She was well educated in Germany and studied hotel management. Doris married Richard A. Donato and came to America in December of 1957. Later she became a US citizen in April of 1972.
She had a great love for cats, dogs, chocolate, her son-in-laws, and the color blue. She enjoyed going to Chautauqua Lake, sitting at campfires, decorating her home, and crocheting.
Surviving are her four children, Toni (Steven) Hansen of Silver Creek, Susan (Mario) Angeli of Jamestown, Yvonne (Jeffrey) Gullotti of Lakewood, and Mark Donato of Celoron; 10 grandchildren, Rachel (Josuha) Johnson, Brittany (Donald) Abramson, Nichole Angeli, Paige (Derek) Nero, Saraphina (William) Wuster, Steven Hansen, Philip Hansen, Sonia Angeli, Madalynn Donato, and Marilynn Donato; Eight great-grandchildren, Delia and Leon Johnson, Jameson and Sullivan Abramson, Pheobe and Rocky Nero, Ka’eo Wuster, and Leo’Vanni Goodlow.
There will be no visitation, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
