B. Stewart Snyder

B. Stewart Snyder, MD., 76, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed on April 29, 2025 at home, surrounded by his family. Stewart was born on July 15, 1948, the son on B. Stewart Snyder and Lois Putnam Snyder. Stewart graduated from Jamestown High School, Jamestown, New York in the class of 1966. From there he went to Rochester Institute of Technology, and later to the University of Buffalo where he graduated with a Degree in Engineering. He later attended and graduated from the University of South Carolina Medical School. Following graduation, he spent the next four years in the United States Air Force as a Flight Surgeon. When he left the Air Force, he spent the next 34 years working as a Family Medicine doctor, and also enjoyed practicing Occupational Medicine until his retirement. Stewart married Sandra (Day) Snyder on July 16, 1994. He enjoyed cars, HO Scale Trains and RC airplanes in his free time. Stewart was preceded in death by his son, Paul Snyder on March 9, 2025, his parents B. Stewart Snyder, Lois Putnam Snyder, and a brother, Lewis Snyder. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; sons Joshua Snyder, Kevin Sibley (Rachel), daughter Kara Lemonds (Thomas Zackary), and daughter-in-law Rebecca Snyder. He is also survived the eight grandchildren, a sister Maggie Scorse, and a brother Mark Snyder, as well as many nieces, and nephews.
