Maj. Richard T. “Dick” Best

The memorial service for Maj. Richard T. “Dick” Best, 80, who was promoted to glory February 23, 2025, will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday April 12, 2025, in the Salvation Army of Jamestown, 83 S. Main Street.

He was ordained and commissioned as a Salvation Army Officer as a member of The Witnesses to the Faith Session in 1967.

Surviving is the love of his earthly life Major Jody Hulbert Best; children Eric (Dana) Best, Andrew (Robin) Best, Jessica Brock, Jolene (Thad) Bahler, Jacob (Heather) Brock, and Matthew (Nora) Best; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Jodi Lynn Best and great granddaughter Athena Grace Crandall.
