Charles A. Morando

Charles A. Morando, born Oct. 16, 1941 passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025 in Raleigh, N.C., he was 83. Born and raised in Sugar Grove, Pa. the son of the late Aldo and Inez Borsari Morando, he spent his life in Chautauqua County, N.Y. and the Gold Coast of south Florida. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Sandra K. Hind of Jamestown , NY and several cousins.

He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1960 and soon thereafter joined the U.S. Navy to see the world. Much to his delight he was stationed in Europe for his entire tour of duty. After his military service he started his life long journey of salesmanship, marketing and new product development. First working in the corporate world, he then made the transition to his own entrepreneurial enterprises. Eventually, he created two successful companies based in the coatings industry. Always innovating and creating, even during the last weeks of his life, he had something on the drawing board.

Charles enjoyed his entire family and was always known as a fun conversationalist and a great storyteller. To say that he possessed an incredible sense of humor would be a complete understatement. At his mother’s Sunday dinner ritual, that spanned decades, we would often be treated to “tales of the road”, drawn from his many years of selling and traveling. Many remain unforgettable to this day.

He is survived by his four children, Monica Piscitello-Wise (Clif), Avon, Oh. ,Charles R. Morando, and Michael D. Morando of Boca Raton, Fl., and Kristina Stewart (Alan) Raleigh, N.C.; his beloved granddaughter Zoe McPherson, Raleigh, N.C.; and his siblings, Judith A. Barrick, Philadelphia, Pa., Marilynn A. Wick, Boca Raton, Fl., Richard A. Morando (Jeannie), Sugar Grove, Pa., and Adolph G. Morando (Elizabeth), Lakewood, NY, and numerous nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life will be held locally on June 28 at a location to be determined by the family. Contact Kristinastewart37@gmail for specific details.
