David L. Rexford

He was born on Jan. 23, 1954, in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Ernest and Gladis Foster Rexford.

David was a graduate of Westfield central Schools. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Navy serving from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1980.

Before his retirement he worked as a draftsman at Weber Knapp Co. and Chase Woodworking but most recently he was a welder for Hope’s Windows, Inc.

David enjoyed working with his hands, in particular knitting and woodworking projects. He also liked listening to country music.

Surviving are his two sons David Rexford of Jamestown, and Jason (Julia) Rexford of Jamestown; his sister Brenda McChesney of Matthews, NC.

Besides his parents and older brother, Ernest Rexford, David was followed shortly in death by his wife Sharon Burt Rexford whom he married Sept. 27, 1980, and who died Feb. 7, 2025.

A memorial service for both David and Sharon will be held at 3 pm Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm on Friday Feb. 21, at The Lind Funeral Home.
