Udell Singleton

Udell had four siblings, Roger, Sue (Mitch) Mitchell, Phyllis (Don) Conrad and Tom Jr. who recently passed; one daughter, Debra and three grandchildren Steven, Harley and Davison. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Udell was a 1958 graduate of Burnsville High School and a member of the Burnsville Bruin football team. He had many good friends, both on and off the field (he liked to reminisce with Vincent Post about “the game” when the two caught up through the years. We fans won’t go there but some of you will recall what happened.)

He left WV to find work after graduating and was successful in the food canning industry in the Middleport, NY area. After buying a property in Frewsburg NY he retired there but continued working at a large local marina. He spent a lot of free time rebuilding and adding to a small cabin, turning it into a lovely house and improving his beloved fish pond. Udell also was a jack of all trades and had a gift for repairing or fixing about anything large or small. He loved the great outdoors be it hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding the birds, etc. Nature was his thing. He was a person of great integrity and everyone knew you could count on his word or a handshake.

Services will be held at 12 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Stockert Funeral Home, Flatwoods, WV. Udell’s wishes to be buried at the family T & T family cemetery will be honored privately.
