Joseph “Joe” R. Brunacini Sr.

Joseph “Joe” R. Brunacini Sr., 104, passed away December 2, 2024, at Heritage Park surrounded by his family.

He was born April 29, 1920, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Vincent and Josephine Sperlisa Brunacini.

Following high school he served in World War II, from 1942 until 1945 and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Bronze Star while stationed in Europe as a radio operator as a member of the 30th division.

Before his retirement he worked at Marlin Rockwell for 28 years.

Joseph was a member of the John W. Tiffany Post 53 VFW, Allen Street Men’s Club serving as past president, and Herman Kent Post 777 A.L.

Joe married the love of his life, Josephine Guttadauria on July 15, 1942. They loved raising their 13 children. He was a man of virtue and an amazing father and husband. His legacy will live on to be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Surviving are his children: Marilyn Bellavia, Dr. Timothy (Suzanne Hunt) Brunacini, Anne Gordon, Mary (Patrick) Hoover, Michael (Riza) Brunacini, William Brunacini, Martine (John) Hamilton and Gerard (Matet) Brunacini; a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Brunacini who died January 3, 2019: his three daughters: Valerie Hill, Vincinne and Catherine Brunacini; his two sons; Joseph Brunacini and Vincent Brunacini; sons-in-law: Dr. William Bellavia, Lester Hill, Dr. Craig Gordon and daughter-in-law Debra Lawson.
