Robert M. Wallace
Robert M. Wallace, 69, of Lakewood, NY, went to be with the Lord Sunday October 6, 2024, after a courageous ten-year battle with cancer. He was born June 4, 1955, in Rochester, NY to the lateGerald and Edna Chisholm Wallace.
Following graduation from Gates Chili High School in 1973, Bob attained his bachelor’s degree in finance from Canton University. I
In 1978, Bob and Mary (Sabino) married and raised four children, only ever enhancing his love for spending quality time with his family. It was Bob’s strong faith that guided him through every opportunity and struggle alike. He enjoyed teaching and holding Bible small groups where he would serve his famous French toast. He went on a notable mission trip to Brazil. Much the same, Bob treasured vacations with his family. Throughout the routine seasons of life, Bob enjoyed golfing and fishing. He, too, had an affinity for soccer, playing in men’s adult league for years. The Buffalo Bills had Bob’s fanship secured, cheering them on through decades of coaches and rosters.
Bob was a former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Bob had incomparable adoration for his beloved dog and companion, Tucker. The pair could always be spotted cooking for the family, as Bob was a phenomenal master in the kitchen. Above all, Bob adored Christmas the entire year long. Trees were not adorned in December alone but were cherished in his office always. The spirit of Christmas mimicked Bob’s intrinsic zest for living and sharing that joy with others.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary; his children: Ryan Wallace of Cheyenne, WY, NathanWallace of Cheyenne, WY, Jason Wallace of Windsor, CO, and Lindsay (Ty) Cummings ofSpringfield, TN; grandchildren: Ty Whitermore, Brody Wallace, Rain Wallace, Ezra Cummings, andAdalynn Cummings; a brother, Tim (Barbara) Wallace of Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Bob will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Lind FuneralHome. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 1-2 pm Saturday at Lind’s.
It is no small charge to comfort and care for folks as they are passing. Chautauqua Hospice did thatwith dignity, grace, and a sense of familiar love. For this, Mary and her family are forever grateful.
