Kenneth H. Weaver Jr., 78, of Bridgeville, Delaware and Bradford, PA, formerly of Jamestown, passedaway Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024 at his winter home in Delaware after battling COPD for nearly 30 years.
He was born Feb. 9, 1946 in Bradford, the son of the late Kenneth H. and Gertrude Campbell Weaver Sr.
Ken attended Falconer High School, Class of 1964, and furthered his education at Jamestown Community College and Penn State. His distinguished career in the furniture industry spanned many decades, including his role as Vice President at Jamestown Sterling and senior management positions with Union Furniture in Batesville, IN, Fancher Furniture in Salamanca, Nathan Hale, and North Franklin Furniture Co. in York, PA. Ken later established his own furniture manufacturing business in York, PA, Pennsylvania Heirlooms. Upon retirement, he founded Wallifisher Designs, where he designed and handcrafted solid wood items, sold both locally and online.
Ken cherished time with his family and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, and boating. Even during his long battle with illness, he embraced each day with a zest for life. He felt most at home in the mountains of his youth and enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible. Ken loved animals of all kinds and was always in the company of his beloved family pets throughout the years.
A dedicated community member, Ken was a lifelong supporter of various clubs and organizations, including the Falconer Rod and Gun Club, as well as several VFW, American Legion, and Moose Club posts/locations. He actively contributed through membership, volunteer work, and leadership roles.
Surviving is his wife Candace A. Jones Weaver whom he married July 2, 1966 in the First Baptist Church of Falconer; two children Christina (Jim) Ingerson of Bradford, PA, Thomas (Kelly) Weaver of Delaware; three grandchildren Broderick (Brittany), Ezekial (Krista), Kelsey (Nick); four greatgrandchildren Eli, Klaira, Holden, Hudson and a brother James (Linda) Weaver of Jamestown and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Gertrude Weaver Sr.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Lynn E. Gatz will officiate.Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and onehour prior to the funeral service Monday in the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, Ken asked that memorials may be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital(www.stjude.org) or the American Lung Association, www.lung.org., two charities close to his heart.
