Imogene G. Truax

Imogene was a graduate of Irvona High School and in earlier years was employed by the former Jamesway Department Store. Prior to retirement she was employed by Key Bank. Faith, church, and family were important in Imogene’s life. She was currently the oldest active member of Hillcrest Church and had served as church treasurer. Imogene was also a member of the Red Hat Society and TOPS having served as bookkeeper.

Surviving are three sons: Thomas (Susan) Truax of Falconer, Roger Truax of Jamestown, Brian Truaxof Gerry; a daughter-in -law Connie Truax of Kabob; nine grandchildren: Dawn Neaverth, Michelle Swan,Thomas M. Truax, Kimberly Hardin, Brian Truax II, Lindsey Palmer, Stephanie Forbes, Jennifer Johnson, Alicia Truax; seven great grandchildren; a brother Robert Hockenberry and a sister Betty Jane Valentine-Crooks.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd C. Truax whom she married December 24, 1947 in Brisbin, PA, who died February 1, 2016; two sons: James Truax, Rodney Truax; and a brother ArthurHockenberry.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Soderberg and Rev. Mark Hinman of Hillcrest will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill CemeteryFriends will be received by the family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the funeral service Friday in the funeral home.
