Walter “Randy” R. Packard

A celebration of life for Walter “Randy” R. Packard, will be held from 1-5 (A time of remembrance 2-3 PM) on September 29, 2024 at the Den Adelsmen’s Klub, 3411 Salisbury Road, Gerry, NY 14740. He passed away on (August 19, 2024 in UPMC Medical Center in Pittsburgh.

He was born April 15, 1962 in Silver Creek, the son of Walter Ellsworth Packard of Falconer and Barbara Ann Nicocia Greenberger of Kennedy.

Randy attended Randolph Central and had most recently been a driver for Cancer Care of America in Jamestown, Following high school, he went to Alaska to work in the fishing and crabbing industry. He then went to work in the oil fields, as a Derreck Hand in Texas, until a serious accident involving a pipe casing impact that broke loose from a Gin Pole, causing him a lifetime of chronic pain.

In his youth, Randy was a very competitive and talented athlete. He loved to ski, golf, bowl and vacation to Florida. He also enjoyed playing cards, ice fishing, playing corn hole and most importantly, spending time with his grandsons, playing catch or Frisbee almost daily.

He is survived by his father; Walter Packard and wife Deborah of Falconer, mother, Barbara (late Robert) Greenberger of Kennedy, his wife, Linda K. (West) Packard, his pride and joy, his daughter, Casie Lynn Packard of Randolph, two grandsons, Myles Randall Harrison and Reid Packard Harrison of Randolph, his brother, Ronald Packard of Kennedy and sister Nicole Packard-Pitts of Falconer.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Lee Packard on November 23, 2005.
