Sally Land Patterson, 89, of Sherman, New York, died September 1, 2024 at HeritageGreen. Born in Springville, New York, Sally was the daughter of Harold and Laura Land Coe and was raised in Sherman.
Sally graduated from Sherman Central School and then went on to Buffalo for school. Thereafter, she worked at the Welch Block in Westfield and for 28years she was the secretary to five different superintendents at Sherman Central School. She and her husband, John, operated a beef cattle farm in Mayville and they also dealt in antiques and collectibles. Upon returning to her hometown in 2004 she loved working on Sherman history, gardening, landscaping and enjoying her grandchildren. She helped to create the Sherman Historical Society in 2011 and was very active in the Yorker Museum, beginning in the 7th grade.
Sally was a member of the Sherman Community Church.
Sally is survived by her husband, John, who she married in 1971; a son, Steven (Teri) Vinciguerra of Mayville; a daughter, Lauri (Michael) Keller of Falconer; 6 grandchildren and14 great-grand children.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Peggy Moreland; a grandchild and a great-grand- child.
She was a member of the Sherman Community Church. No visitation will be observed but there will be a private service at a later date in theSherman Cemetery.
