Michele Kristie Slade, 61, of Randolph, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Star Hospice House, Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care in Lakewood.
She was born September 22, 1962 in Damrisotta, Maine the daughter of the late Vernon (Phyllis) Ramsey and Beverly (James) Jennings of Lakewood. Michele attended Falconer High School and graduated from Jamestown High School in1980 after attending for a short time. Michele worked as a waitress and bartender for the Kennedy Grill and The Office in Kennedy, and Pete’s Place in Randolph, where she was beloved by everyone. She also worked as a jack of all trades at the Kennedy Meat Market, where she was the service person, butcher, meat wrapper and freezer manager. She loved playing games of all kinds. Throwing darts, Pool, doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles as well puzzles of all kinds. She was a tap dancer in shows from Little Theatre and loved playing the organ. She enjoyed baking for family and friends. She had a great love of animals (ducks, cats, and dogs) and of course her favorite character was Mickey Mouse.
Michele is survived by her mother Beverly of Lakewood, a son; Mark Maio, grandson;Nolan Ryan Maio of Lakewood, a brother Jeff (Marian) Ramsey of Frewsburg, a sister; Brendon Beers of Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Timothy C. “Timmer” Slade,whom she married in 2001 and who died in January of 2024, her father, Vernon Ramsey, step mother; Phyllis Ramsey, step father, James Jennings and a brother; Dana Ramsey.
As per Michel’s wishes, there will be no services held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and announced by the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph.
The family would like to thank Julie Nagle from Hospice for everything she did for Michele and the family in her final days to make her more comfortable.
