Marsha A. (Nana) Hornstrom Van Every

Marsha A. (Nana) Hornstrom Van Every, 86, of Sherman, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Marsha was born December 3, 1937, to the late Wendell A. and Dorothy Daley Hornstrom. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gordon M. Van Every; two sisters, Kathryn Hornstrom Rickerson and Edith Hornstrom Curry; a brother, Wendell A. Hornstrom, Jr., a great grandson, Levi Jacob Aldrich, a great granddaughter Allie Mae Henton and her son in law, Carl Myers, Jr.

Marsha met and married the love of her life on June 4, 1960. Together they had six children.

Marsha had many jobs over the years, her favorites being AJ’s Texas Hots (where she made lifelong friends) and her many years working at Chautauqua Institution in a variety of different roles.

Marsha enjoyed spending time with her family. Whether it be in a cutthroat game of Left, Right, Center or a game of spinners. She also enjoyed family picnics, sitting around a campfire, trips to North Carolina to visit her son, and she loved the casino!

She also enjoyed her breakfast outings with her sister Joan, and her niece Stacey.

Marsha cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Marsha will be dearly missed by her six children; Duane (Tracy) Van Every of Salisbury, NC, Rhonda (Jim) Maynard of Ashville, NY, Sharyn Myers, Judy (Chris) Card, Wendy (Tim) Aldrich, and Brenda (Tom) DeKoning, all of Sherman, NY; 22 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Hornstrom Johnson; her niece, Stacey Curry, and many more nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Sherman First Baptist Church from 4 to 7 pm Monday September 30, 2024, and an hour prior to the service in the church on Tuesday.

The Funeral will be held at 11 am Tuesday October 1, 2024, at Sherman First Baptist Church.
