Anna (Anne) Davidson Himebaugh
Anna (Anne) Davidson Himebaugh, a woman of extraordinary charm and vivacity, peacefully passed away at the age of 95 on August 31, 2024. Born in Alexandria, Egypt on December 20, 1928, one of five children, Anne’s early years were a tapestry of culture and adventure. Her childhood took her from the ancient sands of Egypt to the elegant streets of Paris, before finally setting roots in the United States. In New York City, she met and married the love of her life, Lyle Blystone Himebaugh Jr. Their union was blessed with two sons, Lyle B. Himebaugh III and David Norwood Himebaugh, who were the lights of her life. The family lived in Jamestown, NY, where Anne became a beloved fixture in the community. Summers were spent at Chautauqua, NY, where Anne’s competitive spirit shone brightly on the tennis courts. Her trophy collection, a testament to her skill and determination, was rivaled only bythe size of the parties she loved to throw. Anne had a flair for celebration, and her gatherings were legendary, filled with laughter, music, and the warmth of friends and family. After the untimely passing of Lyle B. Himebaugh Jr., Anne returned to the vibrant life of New York City, where she eventually married J. Newton White. Together, they continued to explore the world, adding more stamps to her already well-worn passport and more stories to her ever-growing collection.Anne’s life was one of elegance, resilience, and joy.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Her two sons, Lyle and David, carry forward her spirit, along with her grandchildren (Lilly, Helen, and Liam), who inherited her zest for life and curiosity for the world. She is also survived by her last remaining sibling Victoria “Vicky” Schwarzchild. Anne will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Anne’s wishes were for an intimate family only remembrance and to be next to her husband Lyle Blystone Himebaugh, Jr.
